A male suspect involved in a shooting that injured two fellow students at Evergreen High School near Denver has died from self- inflicted hours after the incident, according to law enforcement officials.

Spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jacki Kelley confirmed that the suspect was among three students hospitalised with gunshot wounds following the shooting.

The shooter used a handgun to fire both inside and outside the school primises.

Head of trauma at CommonSpirit St.Anthony Hospital Dr. Brian Blackwood reported that one of the injured students is in critical condition while the other sustained non-life threatening injuries.
