FIR names Aleema Khan, Naeem Panjutha for journalist assault case outside Adiala Jail
An FIR has been registered at Saddar Police Station against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers for allegedly assaulting journalists outside Adiala Jail.
The case, lodged on the complaint of a private TV channel reporter, names Aleema Khan, Naeem Haider Panjutha, Intisar Satti and around 40 unidentified PTI workers as accused.
The FIR includes five sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The incident occurred before Aleema Khan’s media talk outside the jail, when PTI workers allegedly attacked reporters covering the event.
Two journalists were reportedly injured, while attackers also tore their clothes. Fellow media representatives rescued the injured colleagues.
In protest, journalists boycotted the press conference following the incident.
Police confirmed detaining several PTI workers, while many of the suspects managed to flee.
