Saudi Arabia has extended a gesture of solidarity with Pakistan by sending relief supplies for flood-affected families in Punjab.

Five trucks carrying aid from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) arrived in seven districts of the province.

In a ceremony attended by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malki handed over the relief goods to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The aid includes 10,000 shelter kits and 10,000 food baskets, each weighing 95 kilograms and containing flour, sugar, pulses, and cooking oil.

Families will also receive tents, solar panels, LED lights, kitchen sets, blankets, and other essentials.

Relief items will be distributed in Kasur, Jhang, Khanewal, Hafizabad, Chiniot, Multan, and Toba Tek Singh through joint efforts of PDMA Punjab, KSRelief, and Hayat Foundation.

During her meeting with the Saudi envoy, CM Maryam Nawaz praised Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing their leadership as “a guiding light for the Muslim Ummah.”

She expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, calling it a symbol of genuine brotherhood and solidarity.

“The flood crisis has once again shown that Pakistan-Saudi ties are not just strategic, but rooted in true fraternity and shared values,” she remarked, adding that bilateral economic cooperation is also growing.
