Traffic police issue special plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)
Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ is being celebrated today (Saturday) with immense devotion, reverence, and religious enthusiasm across the country.
Neighbourhoods and main streets have been decorated with green leaflets to give a festive colour nationwide, and the day will feature Na’at gatherings, Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ conferences, and processions.
Main roads in cities are lined with green flags, and dozens of buildings, including commercial centres, are illuminated with decorative lights.
In Karachi, the traffic police have issued a special traffic plan for the processions.
According to this plan, all SSPs (Senior Superintendents of Police) will monitor the processions in their respective districts.
Two major processions will depart from the Memon Mosque. Maulana Akbar Dars’s procession will start at 2.30pm and conclude at the Aram Bagh Mosque.
The central procession, led by Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, will begin after 3pm and end at Nishtar Park, also starting from Memon Mosque.
According to the traffic police, all traffic heading from Guru Mandir to Numaish will be suspended, and MA Jinnah Road will be completely closed to regular vehicles.
Only procession vehicles with official stickers will be allowed on MA Jinnah Road.
Traffic entering from District Central will be diverted towards Lasbela, Nishtar Road, and Garden.
Similarly, traffic from District East will be redirected to Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Kashmir Road, and Soldier Bazaar, while traffic from District South will be diverted towards Gul Plaza, Coast Guard office, and Pakistan Chowk.
In Lahore, special gatherings and processions are also being organised in celebration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, with extensive security arrangements in place across the province.
According to IG Punjab Usman Anwar, over 60,000 officers and personnel will be deployed across the province, with more than 8,000 personnel dedicated to Lahore alone.
All resources will be utilised to ensure security, and a high alert has been issued. The IG Punjab has instructed law enforcement to maintain strict vigilance on troublemakers and hostile elements.
In Lahore, the purchase of decorative lights and related items has reached its peak. Local markets are bustling with people buying colourful lights, models of Masjid-e-Nabawi, and other decorative items.
In Peshawar, Quetta, and other major cities across the country, events relating to Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ are also being held, with tightened security measures in place.
