Balochistan suspends mobile internet on Sept 5–6 over security concerns
The Balochistan government has announced the suspension of mobile internet services across the province on September 5 and 6, citing security concerns.
According to a notification issued by the provincial Home Department, the measure has been taken to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.
The suspension will apply to Quetta and other sensitive districts, where authorities fear social media could be used to spread rumours or incite unrest.
Officials clarified that the ban only affects mobile data services, while broadband and Wi-Fi connections will remain operational.
The Home Department said the temporary shutdown is intended to ensure public safety and prevent any security threats.
It added that the situation is under constant review, and services will be restored once conditions improve.
