Turkish Air Force chief meets CJCSC in Rawalpindi

Both sides vow to strengthen strategic friendship and defence cooperation

General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, Commander of the Turkish Air Force, met Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at Joint Staff Headquarters during his official visit to Pakistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

According to the ISPR, the two dignitaries “held detailed discussions on matters of professional interest with emphasis on evolving global and regional geo-strategic environment, shared strategic priorities and underscored the importance of bilateral collaboration in promoting peace and stability in the region.”

Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen the long-standing strategic friendship between Pakistan and Turkey and enhance bilateral defence and security cooperation.

The ISPR added that General Kadioglu “remained appreciative of professional standards of Pakistan Armed Forces, their achievements and sacrifices in fight against terrorism and continued efforts towards regional peace and stability.”

Earlier, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented a guard of honour to the visiting dignitary at Joint Staff Headquarters.
