Family, workers being punished for standing with PTI founder, alleges Aleema Khan
Aleema Khan, sister of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, on Thursday alleged the family and party workers were being punished for standing with Imran Khan.
She claimed that children are being arrested, elders are facing secret trials, and loyal supporters are being unfairly convicted.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Aleema Khan expressed regret over the arrests of young activists and said that individuals like Hassan Khan, nephew of Imran Khan, and other PTI workers had been awarded sentences without being granted the right to appeal.
She maintained that the PTI founder has been arrested only in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Aleema further alleged that the Chief Justice was rewarded with a permanent appointment to the Islamabad High Court after refusing to hear the founder’s appeal.
Criticising what she described as selective accountability, Aleema Khan said individuals such as Sher Afzal were freed after being used by institutions and later abandoned.
She added that the PTI founder had already expelled Sher Afzal from the party in the past, and now he can join another political group.
