Six soldiers martyred as security forces foil terrorist attack in Bannu: ISPR
Six soldiers embraced martyrdom as security forces thwarted a terrorist attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters in Bannu district by the Khawarij belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij during the early hours of September 2, 2025, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “The Indian sponsored Kharjis attempted to breach the perimeter security; however, their nefarious designs were swiftly foiled by the vigilant and resolute response of our troops.”
“In their desperation, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall,” the ISPR said. The suicide blast caused partial damage to the wall and nearby civilian infrastructure, injuring three civilians.
The ISPR added that troops engaged the attackers with “precision,” eliminating all five assailants. However, six personnel of the Federal Constabulary and Pakistan Army were martyred during the exchange of fire.
In its statement, the ISPR said:
“Displaying unwavering courage and professional excellence, own troops engaged the Kharjis with precision and eliminated all five Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij. However, in this intense exchange of fire, six brave soldiers belonging to Federal Constabulary and Pakistan Army, after putting up a heroic fight, embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.”
The statement further noted that a clearance operation in the area was underway and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to fight terrorism:
“The security forces of Pakistan in step with nation remain steadfast in their resolve to eradicate Indian sponsored terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers and innocent civilians further strengthen our unwavering commitment of safeguarding our nation at all costs.”
