The European Union has announced emergency humanitarian aid for Pakistan as devastating floods continue to wreak havoc across the country.

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas spoke with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday, extending condolences over the loss of lives in the catastrophic floods.

According to the EU Delegation in Pakistan, the bloc has allocated around Rs350 million to address urgent humanitarian needs.

The relief will be delivered through trusted humanitarian partners and will focus on life-saving health support, clean water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) services, and cash assistance for the most vulnerable families.

The EU delegation expressed deep sympathy for those who lost loved ones and for the families still searching for the missing.

“The EU stands in solidarity with the people of Pakistan during this critical time,” the spokesperson said.

Ishaq Dar thanked the EU for its timely support, noting that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change.

Both sides reaffirmed commitment to strengthening cooperation on climate resilience and sustainable recovery.
