Pakistan tightened its grip on the Tri-Nation T20I Series with a commanding 31-run win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

The victory marked Pakistan’s second straight triumph in the competition.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Pakistan piled up a challenging total of 207 for 8 in their 20 overs.

Young opener Saim Ayub set the tone with a dazzling 69 off 38 balls, striking boundaries at will, while Hassan Nawaz stole the show with a breathtaking 56 from just 26 deliveries, laced with six towering sixes.

The rest of the batting lineup faltered, but the duo’s heroics ensured Pakistan crossed the 200-mark.

In reply, the UAE made a spirited attempt but could only reach 176 for 8.

Star batter Asif Khan fought a lone battle, hammering 77 runs, but lacked support from the other end as Pakistan’s bowlers maintained control.

Hassan Ali, back in the side, impressed with figures of 3 for 31, while Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with 2 wickets.

Pakistan made two changes to their XI, resting Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi, with Hassan Ali and Salman Mirza drafted in.

The Green Shirts looked balanced with both bat and ball despite their middle-order collapse.

The win further strengthens Pakistan’s position in the series, with their next challenge likely to come against Afghanistan.

The UAE will face Afghanistan in the third match of the series on Monday.
