The polio vaccination campaign has been postponed in nine flood-affected districts of Punjab in view of the worsening situation, the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) announced on Saturday.

According to NEOC, the campaign has been delayed in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Multan, Muzaffargarh, and Bahawalpur.

However, the polio drive will proceed as scheduled in Rawalpindi, Attock, Mianwali, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, and Rahim Yar Khan, the statement said.

The NEOC appealed to the public to fully cooperate with vaccination teams, stressing that whenever polio workers arrive at their doorstep, parents must ensure their children under the age of five receive the polio drops.
