Legends take the field: Babar Azam, cricket icons play for flood relief

The under-construction stadium is set to host up to 17,000 spectators

Cricket will once again shine as a symbol of hope and solidarity as former Pakistan captain Babar Azam takes to the field today at 1pm for a special exhibition match aimed at raising funds for flood relief efforts.

Organised by Peshawar Zalmi, the high-profile match will see the franchise compete against a star studded Legends XI at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar.

Titled “Khel Se Khidmat” (service through sports), the event aims to generate crucial support for thousands of families affected by recent floods in Khyber PakhtunKhwa and Punjab, which have devastated homes, farmland and livelihood.

The under-construction stadium is expected to accommodate 17,000 spectators, featuring cricket legends such as Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan and Kamran Akmal.

Tickets are priced at Rs1,000 for general seating with 800 VIP and 200 VVIP tickets also available the latter costing Rs50,000 each.

Many of these tickets have been purchased by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other cabinet members.
