Internet service again suspended across Balochistan

Authorities cite security concerns; disruption sparks frustration among users despite court order for restoration

Internet services were once again suspended across Balochistan, including the provincial capital Quetta, late Friday night, leaving users without access and without any prior explanation from authorities.

According to sources, mobile internet services were suddenly shut down across the province, with no official statement issued initially.

Later, reports confirmed that internet services would remain suspended on September 1 and September 6 under a government notification citing security concerns.

Mobile internet has already been suspended in most districts of the province since August 1.

Although the Balochistan High Court had earlier directed authorities to restore services during hearings on a constitutional petition, the suspension has been reimposed, causing widespread difficulties for residents, students, and businesses.

The recurring disruptions have drawn criticism from users, who complain of severe challenges in daily life, communication, and access to online services.
