Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tianjin on Saturday, where he was warmly received at the Tianjin Airport by senior Chinese officials.

Among those who greeted the Prime Minister were Sun Meijun, Minister and Secretary of the CPC Committee of the General Administration of Customs of China, and Yu Yunlin, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress.

Other dignitaries included Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zedong and Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi.

Accompanying the prime minister are Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, and Adviser to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.

The prime minister’s visit comes ahead of his participation in the 25th SCO Council of Heads of State Meeting in Tianjin, where he will also attend events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World’s Anti-Fascist War in Beijing.

During his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

These talks will focus on strengthening Pakistan-China bilateral relations in areas such as trade, economic cooperation, and investment.

The prime minister will also meet with prominent Chinese businessmen and corporate leaders, aiming to boost business ties between the two countries.

Additionally, he will deliver a speech at the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference, which is expected to explore new avenues for collaboration.

In addition to official engagements, PM Shehbaz will interact with leaders of other nations attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
