The National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) has been placed on round-the-clock alert as the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers face severe flooding.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), an exceptionally high flood of 769,481 cusecs is passing through Marala, with chances of further increase. At Khanki, the Chenab River is carrying 705,225 cusecs, though the flow is decreasing.

In the Ravi River, a high flood of 202,200 cusecs is passing through Jassar, which may rise to 229,700 cusecs.

At Shahdara, the Ravi is flowing at 72,900 cusecs, posing a flood risk to the low-lying areas of Shahdara, Park View, and Motorway-II.

In the Sutlej River, an exceptionally high flood of 245,000 cusecs persists at Ganda Singh Wala, while 100,355 cusecs have been recorded at Sulemanki.

The NDMA has urged residents along riverbanks and waterways to immediately move to safer locations, follow instructions from local authorities, contact rescue teams in emergencies, and avoid all unnecessary travel in flood-affected areas.

The NDMA, in coordination with civil and military institutions, is closely monitoring rescue and relief efforts on the prime minister’s directive.
