Dengue cases surge across Pakistan; KP reports 595 infections, Punjab tally hits 220

Health officials confirm no fatalities so far; Rawalpindi, Lahore are among the worst-hit cities

Dengue virus is spreading rapidly across the country, with confirmed cases climbing in both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab.

According to official data, KP has so far recorded 595 confirmed dengue cases by August 25 this year.

Of these, 68 remain active, while 54 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Health authorities confirmed that no dengue-related deaths have occurred in the province so far.

The highest concentration of cases has been reported in Charsadda, where 73 patients tested positive.

In Punjab, dengue infections are also on the rise. Rawalpindi reported 11 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed patients under treatment in the city to 76.

Lahore’s tally has climbed to 54 cases, while the overall count in Punjab has now reached 220 confirmed infections.
