Punjab free laptop scheme: second phase set to begin
The Punjab government is set to kick off the second phase of its free laptop distribution scheme for students, aimed at enhancing access to digital learning tools throughout the province.
According to the Higher Education Department, the merit based distribution will commence next month with formal schedule already established.
The initiative is expected to be officially inaugurated by the Punjab Chief Minister during a ceremony in the first or second week of September.
In the first phase, 14,000 laptops were distributed to students in Lahore.
The upcoming phase aims to broaden the program’s reach, benefiting a larger number of deserving students across Punjab and reinforcing the government’s commitment to higher education and digital inclusion.
