The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, to be held from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka.

All-rounder Fatima Sana will captain the side for the first time in an ODI World Cup, while uncapped right-handed batter Eyman Fatima has earned her maiden call-up.

Pakistan will play all their group-stage fixtures at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

Should the team progress to the semi-final on October 29 and the final on November 2, both matches will also take place in Colombo.

The squad also includes six players who will be making their maiden ODI World Cup appearances — Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Syeda Aroob Shah.

Notably, 21-year-old Aroob, 20-year-old Shawaal, and 20-year-old Eyman all represented Pakistan in the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2023.

Two changes have been made from the squad that played the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier earlier this year in Lahore, Eyman and Sadaf replace Gull Feroza and Najiha Alvi, who move to the non-travelling reserves alongside Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.

Before departing for Colombo, the team will face South Africa in a three-match ODI series at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, from 16 to 22 September.

The South African women’s team arrives in Lahore on 12 September, while Pakistan will begin a 14-day pre-series camp on 29 August under head coach Muhammad Wasim.
