Landslides in the Balakot and Abbottabad tehsils of Mansehra have cut off road links to Kaghan and Murree, leaving area people and tourists stranded.

Landslides in Balakot-Hassa tehsil of Mansehra have closed the Kaghan highway, causing severe hardship to tourists and locals.

According to sources, Murree Road has been closed for traffic due to a landslide at the Abbottabad Galiyat Batangi location, which left many tourists stranded.

As of now, no machinery from the National Highway Authority (NHA) or local administration has arrived to restore traffic flow on the roads, the sources said, adding that ongoing rainfall in Galiyat has increased the risk of additional landslides.

Around 150 tourists and more than 25 vehicles stranded after a landslide on Lake Saif Al Malook Road were rescued on the instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and shifted a safer places.
