Pakistan’s 100-tonne Gaza relief goods land at Egypt’s El Arish airport
A chartered aircraft from Pakistan carrying 100 tonnes of relief supplies landed at Egypt’s El-Arish International Airport on Saturday for onward delivery to Gaza.
The consignment, dispatched on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was arranged by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.
Officials from the Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo received the shipment and handed it over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which will transport the aid into Gaza for distribution among Palestinians.
According to Pakistan’s embassy, the latest dispatch brings the total humanitarian assistance sent by Pakistan to Gaza to 1,915 tonnes. The aid effort includes food, medicines, and other essential relief goods.
The embassy said Pakistan, with the active support of Al-Khidmat Foundation, will continue sending more consignments in the coming days to help meet the urgent needs of the people of Gaza.
