The Indian government has allowed its cricket team to play against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025.

According to India’s Ministry of Sports, the two teams may face each other only in international tournaments, but it ruled out the possibility of any bilateral series between the two nations.

Additionally, no Indian team will be permitted to tour Pakistan, nor will Pakistani players or teams be allowed to play in India.

The ministry clarified that while participation in global events will continue as per schedule, cricketing ties with Pakistan will not extend beyond multilateral competitions.

The upcoming Asia Cup 2025 is scheduled to be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.

Arch-rivals Pakistan and India will face off in a group stage match on September 14 in Dubai.

Both teams could also come to play against each other in the Super Four round of the tournament.
