A resident of Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir was arrested in Muzaffarabad on Thursday for allegedly supplying the GPS location of Bilal mosque to an Indian intelligence agency.

The man has been identified as Obaid Jehangir.

According to sources, India fired missiles at the Bilal Mosque in Muzaffarabad on the night of May 6.

Following an investigation, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a raid in Muzaffarabad and arrested Obaid Jahangir for alleged involvement in anti-state activities.

A First Information Report (FIR) against the suspect was registered at Muzaffarabad’s Saddar Police Station on July 23.

According to the FIR, Obaid Jahangir was spying for the Indian intelligence agency, and he allegedly shared photographs of sensitive installations and classified information with the enemy country’s intelligence agency.

The sources said that the suspect received huge amounts of money in exchange for providing the GPS location and photos of Bilal Mosque and other sensitive locations via WhatsApp and other modern devices to the Indian agency.

The FIR against Obaid Jahangir was registered under section 3/3(a) of the Official Secrets Act. Authorities expect significant revelations from the suspect during the investigation.
