How many acres of farmland damaged by floods in KP?
Torrential rains and flash floods have inflicted massive destruction on agricultural land across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, damaging a total of 31,596 acres in 16 districts, according to a report issued by the provincial Agriculture Department.
The report revealed widespread devastation to standing crops, water channels, and orchards. Out of the total affected area, 25,136 acres of farmland suffered direct damage.
Rice crops covering 3,751 acres and vegetable fields spanning 1,127 acres were also destroyed, while orchards over 1,319 acres were severely affected.
In addition, water channels stretching over 27,877 kilometres sustained significant damage, further impacting irrigation and farming activities in the province.
