Operation in Balochistan targets terrorists, not civilians: DG ISPR
The aim of the anti-terrorism operation in Balochistan is not to harm innocent civilians but to target terrorists and their facilitators, Pakistan Army Spokesperson Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said.
During an internship programme organised by the ISPR, Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held a special session with students from Balochistan, in which a detailed discussion on Pakistan, particularly Balochistan, took place.
The DG ISPR also gave detailed answers to the questions of Balochistan students in the session.
Lt-General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry clarified that simply vacating an area does not solve the issue, as success can only be achieved through public participation.
He appreciated the sacrifices and wisdom of the people of Balochistan and stated that the youth, children and women are now taking control of their region and destiny.
Mentioning that the foundation of the country is based on the Quran and unity, he said that while Balochistan’s population consists of diverse linguistic groups, everyone shares the goal of serving the country.
The people of Balochistan have a clear understanding of the relationship between Pakistan and the province, he added.
The special session also highlighted the military’s sacrifices, the services of Major Muhammad Anwar Kakar, and the ongoing operations against terrorists.
The DG ISPR emphasised that lasting peace in Balochistan can only be achieved with the cooperation of the public and the administration.
