The federal government has revised petroleum product prices and issued a notification detailing the changes.

According to the notification, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs12.84 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs272.99 per litre. Previously, HSD was priced at Rs 285.83 per litre.

Petrol prices, however, remain unchanged at Rs 264.61 per litre.

The new prices will take effect from August 16 and will remain applicable for the next 15 days.

High-speed diesel is primarily used in agricultural and commercial sectors, meaning this price cut is expected to have a positive impact on transportation costs and, subsequently, on the prices of food and other essential commodities.
