A doctor was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Alishan Mosque on Lyari Expressway on Monday.

According to police, the victim, identified as Dr Lal, was a resident of Garden and ran a clinic in front of Kalakot police station.

He was in the habit of taking evening walks along Lyari Expressway and had gone there as usual today when two armed assailants opened fire on him.

Police recovered two bullet casings from the scene, while a crime scene unit collected forensic evidence.

Investigators are working to determine the motive and identify the suspects.
