Two terrorists belonging to the banned Fitna Al Khawarij group were arrested in the Monghopir area of Karachi on Monday.

The operation was jointly conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department, federal intelligence agencies, and local police.

According to the CTD, the arrested terrorists have been identified as Abdul Wakeel and Ajmal, who had received training in Afghanistan and are believed to be close associates of the most wanted terrorist, Sharifullah.

Officials stated that both terrorists belonged to the Qila Abdullah district of Balochistan and were sent to Karachi to carry out a major terror operation.

The CTD sources claimed that the suspects were supposed to receive instructions for specific targets later, but a possible tragedy was averted due to the timely operation.

The authorities have begun interrogating the arrested to obtain information about their network and further planning.
