Eight volunteers were killed and three were injured in a landslide during the restoration of a flood-damaged nullah in the Dinuor area of Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the local administration, these volunteers were busy repairing a water supply scheme that had been affected by the devastating floods that occurred on July 20, when a landslide suddenly struck them.
Following the accident, a state of emergency has been declared in all hospitals in Gilgit, while rescue operations are underway at the scene.
