First phase of government Hajj scheme receives over 71,000 applications
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has completed the first phase of applications for the 2026 government Hajj scheme, receiving more than 71,000 submissions through the online portal and designated banks.
According to a ministry spokesperson, the first round of applications was open from August 11 to August 16, and the number is expected to rise further as processing continues.
In the second phase, unregistered pilgrims will be able to submit applications, while overseas Pakistanis can apply through close relatives in Pakistan.
The ministry has also instructed applicants living abroad to submit their medical fitness certificates upon returning to the country.
The spokesperson said that once the allocated quota is filled, applications will be closed and an announcement will be made accordingly.
