Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that if the opposition achieves even a one-member majority in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, it will topple the provincial government. However, he said, at present the opposition was not planning to overthrow the government.

Speaking to the media at the inauguration of the 282nd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah on Saturday, the KP governor said that the opposition can bring a no-confidence motion against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government whenever it wants.

Accompanied by Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah, Governor Kundi visited the shrine and laid a floral wreath.

Later, talking to the media, he said that he would support anyone who brings peace to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Taking a jab at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) he asked: “Did those who desecrated the martyrs’ monuments on May 9 come from India and Israel?”

The governor said that PTI members should seek relief from the courts, as they will not be offered any NRO.

“Those responsible for the May 9 incidents should be punished, and those who have done wrong will face the consequences,” he added.

He further said that in the past, PTI leaders had been removed from the federal government, and now if the opposition gains even a one-seat majority in the House, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will fall.
