Imran Khan’s sons apply for visas to visit Pakistan
Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sons, Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan, have applied for visas to visit Pakistan, Aleema Khan said on Friday.
According to Aleema, the brothers, who hold British passports, submitted their visa applications recently.
She said the government has no legal grounds to bar them from entering the country. However, the two do not possess National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
This development comes after the siblings, aged 28 and 26 respectively, spoke out for the first time in May about their father’s imprisonment.
Last month, Aleema Khan announced that as part of a campaign for Imran Khan’s release, the brothers would visit the United States before coming to Pakistan.
Sulaiman and Kasim later travelled to the US, where they met with American lawmakers to highlight their father’s incarceration.
Imran Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023 and is currently serving a sentence in Adiala Jail in the £190 million corruption case.
He is also facing several other cases, including charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act related to the May 9, 2023 protests.
