Mobile internet data services have been suspended across Balochistan for the past three days, causing severe inconvenience to students, online business people and the general public.

According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), mobile internet services have been suspended indefinitely in several districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, due to security concerns.

PTA officials say that internet services have been suspended in the districts of Kohlu, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Loralai, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Noshki and Harnai to avoid any possible untoward incident.

Meanwhile, the shutdown has sparked strong reaction. Students say that due to the suspension of the internet, they are unable to attend online classes, while for freelancers, e-commerce, and other online business people, this situation is tantamount to closing their sources of employment.

Educators and online institutions are also concerned, as they rely on digital platforms to facilitate learning.

The business community says that due to the unavailability of the internet, transactions, orders and contact with customers have been completely cut off.

Citizens have demanded that the government and relevant institutions take alternative measures if there are security concerns, but shutting down a basic facility like the internet is not a solution to any problem.
