PCB suspends Haider Ali after UK police launch criminal investigation
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has temporarily suspended cricketer Haider Ali after receiving information that the Greater Manchester Police have initiated a criminal investigation against him.
The incident in question occurred during Pakistan’s recent tour of England.
According to PCB officials, the investigation pertains to an alleged incident that took place while the team was in the UK.
In response to the news, the PCB has taken immediate action by suspending Haider Ali temporarily, pending the outcome of the investigation.
“In line with its duty of care and responsibility to ensure the welfare and legal rights of all its players, the PCB has ensured that Haider Ali has received appropriate legal support to protect his rights throughout this process,” the PCB stated.
The PCB further noted that disciplinary action may be taken under their code of conduct once the investigation is concluded.
“Once the legal proceedings are concluded and all facts have been duly established, the PCB reserves the right to take appropriate action under its Code of Conduct, if necessary.”
The board has reiterated its commitment to uphold the integrity of the sport and is closely monitoring the situation, ensuring that due process is followed.
