Three killed, 14 injured in blast near police vehicle in Wana

Condition of some injured critical, search operation launched

Three people were killed and 14 others were injured when a bomb blast took place near a police patrol van in the Wana Rustom Bazar area of South Waziristan.

According to sources, the deceased were passersby, while the injured included a police officer. The condition of some injured is stated to be critical.

According to police, the blast targeted the police vehicle. The injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for treatment.

Following the blast, police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

Security sources say that based on initial investigations, a remote-controlled or an improvised explosive device (IED) may have been used in the attack, but full details will be revealed after further investigation.
