DG ISPR denies the rumors of Field Marshal Asim Munir becoming president
The Pakistan Army has strongly denied rumors suggesting Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is set to become President of Pakistan.
In an exclusive interview with the international magazine “The Economist”, the Director General (DG) of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has called the news of the Army Chief becoming the president a complete lie.
The DG ISPR further stated that “talks about Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir becoming the president of Pakistan are completely baseless.”
He added that the political analyses being made after the struggle for truth also have no basis, these are all irresponsible speculations that are rejected.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his determination to respond to the recent terrorist attacks with military action, to which “The Economist” raised the question that if India takes any military action, how will Pakistan react?
DG ISPR in response took a strong stance and said “This time we will start from the east of India”.
He added that “it will start by attacking deep inside India, India needs to understand that they too can be killed anywhere.”
