PM appoints Lt Gen (R) Mohammad Saeed as WAPDA chairman
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed retired Lieutenant General Mohammad Saeed as the new chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), following formal approval by the federal cabinet.
The announcement came after a meeting between the Prime Minister and Lt Gen (R) Saeed, which was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to water resources, national development projects, and strategies for improving WAPDA’s institutional performance.
Congratulating the newly appointed chairman, PM Shehbaz expressed his confidence in Saeed’s leadership, stating, “I hope Lt Gen (R) Mohammad Saeed will perform his duties effectively and diligently as WAPDA chairman.”
Lt Gen (R) Saeed brings with him a distinguished military background and is expected to lead WAPDA through several key initiatives aimed at addressing Pakistan’s energy and water management challenges.
