US President Donald Trump on Monday announced the imposition of more tariffs on India for buying massive amounts of Russian Oil.

In this latest statement on Truth Social, Trump lambasted the Indian government for buying “mass amounts of Russian Oil” and also selling it on the Open Market for “Big Profits”.

He criticised India for fuelling the “Russian War Machine” to kill people in Ukraine.

He said, “They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed”.

Trump announced that, “I will be substantially raising the Tariff paid by India to the USA.”

The elaboration is still awaited as he did not specify the figures.

He had announced to impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from India last week.

Trump also hints at a possible “penalty” for the world’s fifth-largest economy over the continuation of trade ties with Russia amid war in Ukraine.
