Fakhar Zaman ruled out of West Indies series due to injury, to return home
Pakistan’s explosive opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the remainder of the West Indies tour due to a hamstring injury, in what team officials are calling a significant setback ahead of the upcoming ODI series.
According to the team management, Fakhar sustained the injury during the second T20I against West Indies and was subsequently unavailable for selection in the third T20I, played today.
Team sources confirmed that Fakhar will return to Pakistan on the first available flight, where he will begin a rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to recover in time for future commitments.
The left-hander’s absence is seen as a major loss for the national side, particularly with the three-match ODI series set to begin on August 8.
Fakhar Zaman has been a key figure in Pakistan’s white-ball setup, known for his aggressive starts at the top of the order. His unavailability will likely prompt changes in the team’s batting strategy and combinations.
