May 9 cases: Former AJK PM arrested by police
Police transfer Sardar Niazi to Mirpur
Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi was taken into custody by police on Wednesday.
Police arrested Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi from Bhimber.
Niazi was arrested as he arrived to address a protest rally in the region.
Police stated that more than 11 cases have been registered against him, and he is being transferred to Mirpur.
Sources further revealed that arrest warrants were issued for Niazi two days ago in connection with the May 9 cases.
Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi served as the 13th Prime Minister of AJK from August 4, 2021, to April 14, 2022.
