The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has highlighted a major fraud of illegal distribution of more than 11,000 acres of valuable government land.

According to a report, a well organized collusion has come to light between senior officials of the Board of Revenue, influential land mafia and certain political figures through mutual connivance transferred land worth billions of rupees to their front men.

According to reliable sources, NAB Balochistan has intensified investigation operations in Karak, Samkhel, Tala Haiderzai, Chashma Achozai areas of Quetta district and Mawali Shumali and Chichai of Hub district. Due to the attractive locations in the areas, the value of the lands is in billions of rupees.

NAB has approached the Accountability Court Quetta on this matter so that these lands can be frozen and the ongoing process of forgery can be stopped.

According to the sources, the scam was being run by an organized network, which includes serious crimes like forgery of records, fake allotments, manipulation of government orders and illegal transfer of lands.

Lands were often transferred in the names of favoured individuals or frontmen of influential figures, so that the real owners could not be traced.

According to NAB officials, some top bureaucrats and political figures involved in the scam may be included in the investigation in the coming days.

The agency has expanded the scope of the investigation and all relevant records are being examined.

The NAB is of the opinion that the scope of this corruption is not limited to Balochistan, but its nature is so vast and serious that it can be included in some of the biggest financial scandals in the history of Pakistan.

NAB is trying to bring the involved individuals to justice and free national assets from illegal possession.
