Field Marshal: Pakistan-China ties rooted in mutual trust and shared resolve
Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring strategic partnership with China, describing it as a relationship built on “mutual trust, unwavering support, and a shared commitment to peace and stability.”
Speaking at a ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) to mark the 98th anniversary of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Field Marshal Munir warmly welcomed Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, senior PLA officers including Major General Wang Zhong, and officials from the Chinese Embassy.
Senior officers of the Pakistan Army were also in attendance.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief praised the PLA’s role in defence, security, and national development, calling it “significant and commendable.”
He highlighted that the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China has remained steadfast despite evolving global and regional dynamics.
“The friendship between Pakistan and China is not only strong but has also withstood the test of time,” Field Marshal Munir said, adding that the defence cooperation between the Pakistan Army and PLA exemplifies a brotherly relationship that will continue to contribute to regional stability.
He emphasised that the collaboration between the two armed forces plays a key role in promoting peace and strengthening regional security.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked Field Marshal Munir for hosting the celebration and paid tribute to the Pakistan Army’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
He reiterated China’s firm commitment to further deepening the strategic partnership with Pakistan.
