Karachi: CTD kills three terrorists, including most-wanted suspect
At least three suspected terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi on Monday.
According to CTD head Raja Umar Khattab, a raid was conducted following a tip-off regarding the presence of operatives linked to a banned outfit.
A fierce exchange of fire took place between the police and the militants during the operation, resulting in the deaths of three suspects.
Two of the slain militants were identified as Zafran and Qudratullah, while the identity of the third is being ascertained.
Khattab revealed that Zafran was a most-wanted terrorist with a bounty of Rs20 million on his head.
Explosive materials, hand grenades, submachine guns (SMGs), and other weapons were recovered from the hideout.
The bodies of the militants were shifted to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities.
Police officials confirmed that all the militants present in the house were neutralised.
Investigations are now underway to trace the owner of the house used by the suspects.
