The body of another woman who went missing in a landslide at Babusar Top has been recovered in Chilas, bringing the total death toll to 10, sources said on Sunday.

Rescue workers were using sniffer dogs and other latest gadgets to search for the missing people, while the Pakistan Army has also joined the search and rescue operations.

The remote village of Kandos in the Ghanche district presents a scene of devastation after a cloudburst, with flash floods stripping the area of life and vitality.

Search and rescue operations were underway after the flood in Thak nullah.

Restoration work on the Babusar-Jalkhad Road is progressing rapidly to restore access to the affected areas.

So far, a total of 10 people, including six tourists, have been confirmed dead.

Talking to Aaj News, Gilgit-Baltistan spokesperson Faizullah Faraq said that 10 people have died due to landslides and floods in Gilgit Baltistan.

The spokesperson said that all tourists have been evacuated from Ferry Meadows, and the Babusar Highway will be opened in 72 hours.

According to estimates, the floods have caused losses exceeding Rs20 billion in Gilgit Baltistan.

Meanwhile, a 60-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured after the roof of their mud house collapsed in the Javedabad area of Haqripur in monsoon rain.

Rescue teams pulled the deceased and injured from the rubble with the help of local people and shifted them to the trauma centre.
