Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir concludes official visit to China
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, concluded a official visit to the People’s Republic of China, where he held a series of high-level meetings with senior Chinese political and military leaders in Beijing.
The visit reaffirmed the robust and long-standing strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
During his visit, the COAS met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The discussions focused on key regional and global developments, deepening cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the importance of coordinated responses to shared geopolitical challenges.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral ties and reiterated their mutual commitment to sovereign equality, multilateral cooperation, and long-term regional stability. Chinese leadership praised Pakistan’s armed forces as a symbol of resilience and a vital force for peace in South Asia.
On the military front, Field Marshal Munir met with General Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, General Chen Hui, Political Commissar of the PLA Army, and Lieutenant General Cai Zhai Jun, Chief of Staff of the PLA Army.

The COAS was received with a guard of honour at the PLA Army Headquarters, reflecting the enduring military-to-military ties between the two countries.
The engagements involved detailed discussions on defense and security cooperation, including counterterrorism efforts, joint training programs, defense modernization, and the strengthening of institutional linkages.
Both sides emphasized enhancing operational interoperability and strategic coordination to tackle hybrid and transnational threats. Chinese military officials expressed strong confidence in the bilateral defense relationship and acknowledged Pakistan’s crucial role in maintaining regional peace and stability.
Field Marshal Asim Munir thanked China for its unwavering support and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further expand military cooperation across all domains.
The visit underscored the growing depth of political and military relations between Pakistan and China and highlighted their shared commitment to regional security through continuous high-level engagement and strategic collaboration.
