Babusar Top cloudburst: Funeral prayers offered for 2 members of Lodhran family

Rescue work completes in Diamer completes, all tourists evacuated

The funeral prayers for two members of the family who died due to a cloudburst at Babusar Top were offered in Lodhran on Thursday.

After three days of search, the body of Dr Mashal’s three-year-old son Abdul Hadi has been found, while another injured member of family, Dr Islam, has been shifted to Lodhran.

Efforts being made to transfer Abdul Hadi’s body to Lodhran.

A large number of political and social figures attended the funeral prayers for Dr Mashal Fatima and her brother-in-law Fahad Islam in Lodhran.

The funeral prayers of Dr Mashal’s three-year-old son Abdul Hadi will be offered tomorrow at 10am.

Meanwhile, the search for 15 tourists who went missing after the accident is still ongoing.

Similarly, there is still no information about Ansar Majeed and Afaq, who belong to Nankana Sahib. So far, the death of six people has been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesman Faizullah said that the rescue operation in Diamer district has been completed.

All tourists have been shifted to safe places. Around 10 to 15 people were swept away by the flash flood, and the search for them is still ongoing.

The tragic incident occurred a few days ago when the family from Lodhran, on their way back from Skardu, was caught in a flash flood at Babusar Top. The strong water current swept away the family’s coaster.

In this incident, Dr Mashal Fatima, her brother-in-law Fahad Islam and her 3-year-old son Abdul Hadi lost their lives, while several members of the family are still missing.

According to rescue sources, six bodies have so far been recovered, while the search for more than 15 missing tourists is ongoing.

Moreover, roads in the affected areas have not yet been fully restored.
