An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for 10 PTI leaders, including Dr Arif Alvi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and eight other suspects due to their involvement in three cases related to the November 26 protest.

The court directed authorities to arrest the suspects and present them before the court. Police have reportedly formed special teams to carry out raids for the arrests.

The decision came after Prosecutor Zaheer Shah filed a petition seeking early hearings of the cases against the accused. The court accepted the request and scheduled the hearing for July 25, while also issuing notices to the suspects and their legal representatives.

Along with Alvi and Gandapur, former Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister Khalid Khurshid is also among those named in the warrants.

The suspects are facing charges related to rioting, vandalism, obstruction of government work, and assaulting police personnel. FIRs against them were registered at Sadiqabad, Wah Cantt, and Naseerabad police stations.
