CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad attends IDEF-2025, holds defence talks: ISPR
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), attended the 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF-2025) in Istanbul, Turkiye, a premier global platform showcasing innovations in the defence sector.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sahir Shamshad held important bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event with top defence leadership from Turkiye and Azerbaijan.
The CJCSC met with Turkish Defence Minister General (Retd) Yasar Guler, Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar Oglu, Deputy Defence Minister Gurbanov Agil Salim Oglu, and Turkish Chief of General Staff General Metin Gurak.
Discussions focused on a wide range of bilateral military cooperation matters, with particular emphasis on strengthening partnerships in defence and security sectors.
“The dignitaries reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening strategic partnerships and enhancing defence cooperation in line with the dictates of future geo-strategic environment and technological advancements,” said the ISPR.
The statement added that both sides praised the professionalism and operational excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces, especially their efforts and sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism.
“The dignitaries praised the professionalism, operational excellence, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism, recognising their significant contributions to regional and global peace and stability,” ISPR noted.
IDEF-2025 is considered one of the most influential events in the global defence calendar, bringing together key international stakeholders to promote collaboration and showcase state-of-the-art defence technology.
