A massive fire erupted in a junkyard in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth on Wednesday morning. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed 15 nearby scrap warehouses, where highly flammable material was stored.

Five fire brigade vehicles have reached the spot and are busy extinguishing the fire.

According to officials, the crew initially faced a severe shortage of water, hampering their efforts to control the fire.

Later, two additional water tankers were called, while fire brigade officials said that efforts were being made to control the fire.

A heavy contingent of police and Rangers has been deployed at the scene to prevent any untoward incident and to continue the rescue operations effectively. No casualties have been reported so far.
