PU implements major fee hike of up to 59% starting this month
Punjab University (PU) has announced a significant fee increase of up to 59%, with the revised structure coming into effect this month.
According to the university administration, the hike was approved by the syndicate and applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The steepest rise is seen in the LLM programme, where fees have jumped by Rs7,825 marking a 59% increase from last year.
Other major programmes, including BSc, BCom, BBA, and MBA, have seen a 15% hike.
D Pharmacy fees have risen from Rs 18,000 to Rs 23,000, while LLB students will face a 28% increase.
Medical diploma programmes have also been affected, with a 16% rise in fees.
This move comes amid broader trends in public higher education, with the average fee increase at major public universities across the country now standing at 28%.
