An attempted attack by militants on police posts in Mazanga and Sheikh Landak areas of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was successfully foiled. The attackers were forced to retreat following a swift and effective response by the police.

The attackers targeted sensitive thermal technology, but the police installations were completely safe.

According to the Central Police Office Peshawar, both attacks were carried out on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The police responded quickly and successfully defended the posts in a very professional manner. There was no loss of life or property during this time.

After the incident, the police have launched a search and clearance operation in the area. Raids are being conducted in nearby areas to search for possible terrorists. CPO Peshawar said that police forces were alert at both places, due to which the attempt to target thermal technology was foiled.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed and RPO Bannu have praised the police personnel for their bravery and have also announced rewards for them.

According to officials, in view of the current security situation, surveillance of sensitive installations has been tightened further, while high alert has been imposed in the area.

Swabi: Firing within the limits of Parmoli police station, one policeman injured, condition out of danger

Swabi: A policeman was injured in firing by unknown persons within the limits of Parmoli police station. According to police officials, the incident took place on Monday night when a policeman on patrol was suddenly fired upon.

The injured policeman Irfan Ali was immediately shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex where he was provided immediate medical assistance. According to the hospital spokesperson, Irfan Ali was shot in the leg, but his condition is out of danger.

Police say that the attackers managed to escape from the scene, and a search operation is underway in the area to find them. Security has been tightened further in Parmoli police station and surrounding areas.
